El sol no regresa.

This is one of my favorite songs by La Quinta Estación. And I agree, it is a metaphor for being sad in spite of things getting better (las nubes se van).
Hi there! That's a metaphor, an artistic use of language. Actually that sentence has the same meaning in Spanish and in English.
- Las nubes se van pero el Sol no regresa. ? The clouds go away but the sun doesn't come back.
So what do you think? Clouds are usually used to express sadness because they cover the Sun, which is normally associated to with joy, brightness, cheerfulness... I think that the meaning depends on the feeling of the listener.
[Revise my English, please]
"being sad in spite of things getting better" I think this is the best answer. Thank you gringojrt. ![]()
