That reminds me of the 'time´ when...

That reminds me of the 'time´ when...

Hi all y Hola a todos.

I´m trying to figure out how to say ¨That reminds me of the 'time´ when...¨

and am struggling with what word to use for time. I.e. I don´t want to translate overly literally.

I´m pretty sure it´is not ¨tiempo¨ and have thought about ¨vez¨, ¨momento¨ and possibly ¨occasión¨

I would be grateful if anyone could help.

Gracias antemano por la ayuda.

Eso me recuerda...

  1. aquella vez que ...
  2. aquella ocasión que ...
  3. aquel momento que ...

Those are your guesses (perfect guesses). I've ordered them from more to less used (in my opinion). Note that que is the "universal relative pronoun" and you can also say:

  • Eso me recuerda aquella vez cuando / en la que ... or
  • Eso me recuerda aquel momento en el que / cuando ...

I agree with RelaxingCup that vez is the most often used word for time in this frame of reference.

So, does recuerda always require ´de´?

Not as Gringo has used it, but just when we use it to say "....... reminds me/you/etc OF ......." Also in certain cases using "acordarse", ie: "¿No te acuerdas de mí?" - 005faa61, Oct 1, 2013
Thanks! - rogspax, Oct 1, 2013
Sorry for the delay - I didn't read this. See that "recordar" and "acordarse" are different verbs. "Acordarse de" ✔ - "Recordar de" ✘ - RelaxingCup, Oct 2, 2013
