dar vs. brindar
Can a native Spanish speaker explain the difference between these two words which mean "to give"? Gracias!

Brindar means to give when relates to offer an opportunity, a profit, or anything, voluntarily. Also to invite. I think that the best way to tell dar from brindar is to try to replace it with to offer.
I agree with RelaxingCup that brindar is to offer, but not necessarily to give. Similar to make available or to yield.
Dar is to complete the accion of offering by actually giving something.
Brindar is also to make a toast while drinking, from the noun el brindis (toast).
