how do u tell time...? how would u write it in a senteces

In spanish while writing the time u use this method-

you say

es la una when you want to say its one o'clock

But when you want to use other numbers u use Son las..dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez, once, doce.

Why? Because one is singular and the other numbers are plural.

and when you need say something like two thirty or three thirty

you say son las ( any of the numbers until twelve) y ( and any number until thirty)

after thirty you use something like

Son las siete menos diez which means ten to seven.

and for one you use es la una menos veinte.

which means twenty to one.

Some other helpful words are-

media- u can use it while telling the time instead of thirty (treinta) cuarto- u can use it instead of fifteen (quince)
