On page seven of the phrases, it says, "Estoy a punto de..." for, "I am about to...", but I thought it is said,"Estoy para..." Does it make any difference which is used?

"Estoy a punto de..." indicates at this exact moment I am going to do something.
"Estoy para..." is a little less exact in the timeframe, but that I am ready to do something.
