mal, malo y mala
I understand the difference between malo y mala; when do I use mal? and it goes after the noun correct and buen goes before the noun, sí?

A lot of Spanish adjectives drop the -o before singular male words. Also, bueno and malo can go in front of nouns too, if something's intrinsically bad or good.
Compare:
Tengo una buena/mala gata.
Tengo unas buenas/malas gatas.
Tengo un buen/mal perro.
Tengo unos buenos/malos perros.
Bueno changes to bueno if it;s before a singular male noun. The exact same thign happens to malo.
Ese documento está mal redactado.
Esa comida esta en mal estado.
El mal is the evil, the devil.
