¡Hola amigos! Gracias por su ayuda. Mi pregunta es si hay alguna diferencia en el uso de /an/ y /one/ en la siguiente oración:

  • I talked with her for an hour
  • I talked with her for one hour

Both are correct. Most of the time you will hear, "an hour". - rac1, Sep 18, 2013
Both are perfect, and I too would tend to choose an over one, though both are totally correct. - rogspax, Sep 18, 2013

Como Rac dice ambos son correctos en inglés y ambos significan lo mismo. Puedes usar "one" para poner énfasis (You talked with her for ONE hour?!), normalmente se use "an".

In my opinion "one hour" is more specifically 60 minutes than "an hour".

Of course "a" and "an" = one.

I used to say "una otra" for another. ha ha

Agreed, and me too. Took a while to rid myself of that. - rogspax, Sep 18, 2013
