Tragedy in Mexico

According to breaking news reports, the death toll from days of torrential rains in Mexico stands at about 50. Much of the devastation has been in Acapulco where tens of thousands of tourists are stranded. Our friends, neighbors, brothers and sisters in Mexico are in my thoughts and prayers.

The flooding everywhere is so sad. I hope everyone will be able to eat, drink clean water, and find dry shelter. My prayers go to everyone.

The saddest part is the greatest impact is almost always on the poorest.

Es muy triste pero en tiempos difíciles las personas se reúnan y se apoyan mutuamente.
It is very sad but through hard times people will come together and support one another.

It breaks my heart to read of all these disasters worldwide , there are far too many

happening in far too many places . I grieve for those poor people , I feel for them ,

and I pray that there lives will not only return to normal but may even improve .

I am reminded of a song of years ago ,- " When Will We Ever Learn "

It's always so tragic when natural disasters occur, but the human spirit always pulls through - of course, our thoughts and prayers will help a great deal.

The news you do not see--- Here in the high desert -our rainy season has lasted more than a month more than usual. the result is several deaths and more than 500 left homeless. Chihuahua is just not equipped for this. More than a few of the homes that were destroyed were solid and more tha 200 years old. In that it affected people of all classes here. A few weeks ago the airport parking lot was underwater and cars were flooded to the windows-more than 100 total losses- but that is just cars- --not people and lives damaged and in some cases lost. We emptied the pantry and the freezer and took it all to the old plaza church for distribution among those in need.-in the hope it will help just a little. Our situation is not like that of Acapulco- but still and all when lives are at stake you do something-- however small- God bless and keep all those who are suffering these losses.

That's very sad, indeed! We will be praying for them too. You can't put a price on life. Everyone is very, very important. - rac1, Sep 18, 2013

Yes, very sad, and not at all a nice way to end a national holiday. And it´s the second round of heavy floods this year already. I have a couple friends who left last night with trucks full of supplies to try to help. I sometimes wish I had a job where I could drop everything like that and join in.
