Is This Sentence Written Correctly?

Hi,

I have this sentence in my current Spanish curriculum, but I wanted to know, do they have this written correctly?

This is the sentence:

"Si yo fuera a España, yo aprendería muchas cosas durante el viaje. Todos los días yo comería tapas por la ciudad y probaría la paella y una tortilla española por primera vez. Yo vería muchos castillos y sacaría muchas fotos de todo. Yo recordaría el viaje por siempre."

Can I also get a translation of this, because to me it doesn't make much sense where they speak about the paellas and the tortillas.

I would say:

• "Si yo fuera a España, yo aprendería muchas cosas durante el viaje. Todos los días yo comería tapas por la ciudad⁽¹⁾ y probaría la paella y una⁽²⁾ tortilla española por primera vez. Yo Vería muchos castillos y sacaría muchas fotos de⁽³⁾ todo. Yo Recordaría el viaje por ⁽⁴⁾siempre."

The pronoun "yo" doesn't have to be added in each sentence; only the first one. The following will be understood perfectly.

⁽¹⁾ Instead of "comería tapas por la ciudad" (which is grammatically correct) I would use "Todos los días iría a comer tapas (a/por la ciudad)". Yours give the impression that you will be eating tapas while walking down the street. Mine implies that you will go to a restaurant or to a "bar de tapas".

⁽²⁾ Feels better to say it this way: "la paella y la tortilla de patatas" or "una paella y una tortilla de patatas". It's like your parallelism in English.

⁽³⁾ The action of taking pictures is "sacar fotos a". You also can "tener fotos de" (have pictures of). Yours: "sacar fotos de" is correct but to use "a" feels better.

⁽⁴⁾ "Por" and "Para" are both correct and good. But saying just "siempre" is simple, accurate and natural. (I would remember it forever).

Probar = to try or taste. So it is saying that you would try paella and Spanish tortillas for the first time.

I'm not a native speaker but it reads ok to me. I would change "por siempre" to "para siempre".
