Guácala and híjole are acceptable slang words within cultured society of Mexico, but Paco is right about güey: this is low-cultured street language, although not vulgar.

Here in Baja Guey is extremely common and in no way considered vulgar. It is used by all the time by all age groups. - gringojrf, Sep 9, 2013

wey is spelled Güey.

True, but it's written as "wey" far more than the correct spelling, so I purposely wrote it that way as that's more than likely how you're going to see it.

It's good that you pointed that out though, because not everyone knows that.

You had best be among friends when using Guey in Mexico.It is street language and can get you in more trouble than you can get out of.

Why do you consider this to be "low-cultured" ? I know it's extremely informal, but low cultured?

And I know not everyone is a fan of this word and it can be considered offensive, but vulgar? In what contexts?
