A Mexican man says to am American woman, "Me gusta tu persona. Me gusta tu persona."

Is he saying that he likes her? I've check out the translation, and the only thing I've come up with is: I like your persona. I like your person.

Is it a figure of speech or is he being literal?

Thank you for your help.

I like your persnality.

I like the way you portray yourself.
