What does the word Spanish word "miasis" mean?

Would anybody, please, help me translate this Spanish word to Enlish?

The word is "MIASIS". I found this word in a forensic report which says that the cadaver was found with abundant miasis.

Possibly a misspelling of miosis. If so it means the equivalent of myosis in English.
