Maybe something like "yo era tecnólogo medico superior en un hospital".

I think Jack-O'Brien is right about the Medical Technologist part, my research indicates the the "senior" part could also be translated with the word jefe. You might try sending a personal message to "Iteligible". Just go to More Users then type that user in the search box. Titles are difficult to translate since they tend to mean particular things in a particular workplace, and can also vary among countries.

Excellent advise. Except that "senior" may not in any way indicate management responisiblities but rather senority on the job and skill level. - gringojrf, Aug 31, 2013
This is true. When PMs come back send me one, please! - Jubilado, Aug 31, 2013

Hello. I agree with you, all three. I think that these three are good translations:

  • Tecnólogo Médico Senior.
  • Tecnólogo Médico Jefe.
  • Tecnólogo Médico Superior.

As you already know we use a lot of anglicisms in Spanish, so Senior is okay. It is used to express seniority (obviously). As in:

  • Analista Programador Junior. (less than 4 years)
  • Analista Programador Senior. (4 or more years)

As Jubilado pointed out, jefe seems to be the more accurate and used translation for Senior if you want to use a Spanish word. And gringojrf is right too, to be jefe (boss) doesn't necessarily indicate management responsibilities, but just a superior rank.

Superior it's also correct but this one does imply higher academic training and skill level.

But this is just my opinion. I hope this helps.

[Feel free to correct my English. Thank you]

Since our personal messaging system is working sporadically here is what I tried to send you. It's really not personal so I'm not out of line posting it here:

Subject: Please return to SD again!

Your question evoked some good discussion among us learners and our suggestions have all been confirmed by one of our new "native" Spanish speakers. I hope that your time here was worth the visit and that you will continue to learn Spanish and let us help you through the rough spots!
