The Rhyming Game! - ¡El juego de rimas!
Hello, everyone! Let's start a new game! This one is called "The Rhyming Game". It may seem a little bit challenging at first, but it is actually very fun!
Directions in English:
- We are creating a poem or rhyming story ONE sentence at a time.
- Therefore, post only ONE sentence at a time.
- The structure of the story is that EVERY OTHER sentence will rhyme with the previous one.
- In other words, rhymes come in pairs of TWO.
- If you are posting a sentence AFTER two rhyming sentences have already been posted, YOU get to end your sentence with ANY word you want! The person posting AFTER you will have to rhyme their sentence with yours, and so on.
- The sentence you post MUST have something to do with the previous sentence, thereby creating a story or a poem.
- The sentence can be long or short and in Spanish or in English.
- You may post a picture along with your sentence if you want.
- The game ends when someone decides to post a sentence concluding the story!
- BE CREATIVE! There is no right or wrong way to continue the story!
Here is an example of the game/Aquí está un ejemplo del juego:
- User 1: There once was a tall woman who lived by the sea
- User 3: So I asked her one day, "Are you feeling okay?"
- User 4: Me miró fijamente y preguntó, "¿Por qué?"
- User 5: "Porque eres tan hermosa," Empecé a decir
- User 6: "but your eyes seem troubled and full of fear."
- User 9: "Then let's go exploring!" I chuckled in joy
- User 10: "Parece brillante el día de hoy."
And the game keeps going as long as the story continues! I know this seems a little bit complicated, but let's give it a try! =]
I'll start! Here's the first sentence of the rhyming story:

Diana heard a strange noise from under the bed.
or her senses are heightened from the scary book she just read.
Diana heard a strange noise coming from under her bed,
or maybe her senses are heightened from the scary book she just read,
Ella dejó el libro, y sin respirar
She looked up, at the brightest star;
and she wished she could run away
to a land where there's only fun places to play,
but in her heart, she knew she was doomed
from this feeling she had, she just assumed.
Until from under her bed, a figure appeared
It was a monster with a gigantic beard.
She tried her best to be un-afraid

and tried to bite her, but his teeth fell out.
"Please," he garbled trying to shout.
"I need to tell you what this is about.
Don't leave me alone and full of doubt."
He looked at the ground and wiggled his snout,

you will notice the effects of my magical potion.
You may feel unsteady, like a boat on the ocean."
Never fear my chickadee, I will always be here with you.
