Aunque and Ni siquiera

Question

So I was watching Teresa, a Mexican show and two words were said that I don't know how to use in a sentence:

The first is aunque.

The sentence said was "Aunque no lo creas me pone nervioso conocerlos" which I take to mean "Even if you don't know that meeting them makes me nervious."

Are the following sentence correct then?

No estoy triste aunque se me perdiera mis gaffas.

Me gusta ir a la playa aunque no me guste nadar.

Aunque no creas en mi, estoy seguro que él lo hizo.

The second phrase was "ni siquiera". The sentence used was "Me secuestró y ni siquiera me dejó venir a la mesa a dejar mis cosas" which I understand means "He kidnapped me and didn't even let me come to the table to drop off my stuff".

Are the following sentences correct then?

Corrí lo más rapido que pude y ni siquiera vi a lo que me asustó.

Le dijo adios pero ni siquiera quería verlo alguna vez más.

The first tow are clearcut '' auques'. After that we enter the mysterious land of '' ni siquiera''. - annierats, Aug 27, 2013

Thank you for bringing this up.

Every time I use one on 'palabra del día' it gets corrected. It should have been the other one.No matter how long I've spent thinking about it, or if I scribbled it down quickly, I'm always wrong.

It's one of those things I've yet to develop a feel for... If ever..Ojalá.

Hi there!

"Aunque no lo creas me pone nervioso conocerlos" - Believe it or not, it make me nervous to meet them or Although you don't believe it, it make me nervous to meet them.

This three sentences:

No estoy triste aunque se me perdieran mis gafas.

Me gusta ir a la playa aunque no me guste nadar.

Aunque no creas en mi, estoy seguro de que él lo hizo.

Are all correct. Aunque represents partial opposition.

"Me secuestró y ni siquiera me dejó venir a la mesa a dejar mis cosas" = "He kidnapped me and (he) didn't even let me come to the table to drop off my stuff". It's a good translation too.

These two sentences:

Corrí lo más rápido que pude y ni siquiera vi a lo que me asustó.

Le dijo adiós pero ni siquiera quería verlo alguna vez más.

Sound both quite odd but are grammatically correct (with typos corrected).

EDIT: ni siquiera examples.

No sé qué hago aquí, ni siquiera me gusta el fútbol. I don't know what I am doing here, I don't even like soccer.

El buffet del hotel era pésimo, ni siquiera había embutido. The buffet in the hotel was disastrous; there even wasn't even cold meat. (I am not sure about this one in English).

Thanks again! For the English of your second example, it should read "The buffet in the hotel was disastrous; there wasn't even any cold meat." Note the semicolon in between the 2 clauses. Thanks for the examples! - HackerKing, Aug 31, 2013
