It's better to say, "Como te llamas?" Very often, Spanish expressions are not literal translations of English. Keep working on the lessons available right here.

To me your question would apply if you had a list of names and you asked Which one is your name? As 1Rajaji says ¿Cómo te llamas? (or se llama if more formal) would be the best way to ask someone their first name or possibly their full name. You could ask ¿Qué es tu apellido (su apellido)? for requesting a family or surname.
