Do real spanish speakers write these articles or do people just use a translator, like google translate?

The only problem with on-line news is that it is so instant and updated so quickly that many times there seems to be no editing/proofing done. Yes, there are mistakes all the time but these are mistakes written by native speakers in both Spanish and English. This probably happens in all languages.

I've just read a couple of articles and I find them correct. Surely 'hand-writen' with no traces of online translator mistakes.

They're legit. No one uses an online translator for a major site, as they're all very, very bad. I use CNNespañol y México a lot for my morning reading. Good stuff.
