LA cocina or EL cocina?

LA cocina or EL cocina?

Buenos días, While studying the lesson 1.9 "The house and directions" I got two different articles. LA cocina - EL cocina. I guess "la cosina" is feminine in Spanish. Was there an accidental mistake in the lesson or should I know something else about articles? Gracias.

Was it El cocina or Él cocina (with the accent)? Besides being the feminine noun for kitchen, kitchen range or the act of cooking, cocina is also the third person conjugation of the verb cocinar, to cook. Él cocina, he cooks.

interesting observation about the verb thing kirk1. Thumbs up on all other points- as a noun, whether referring to a kitchen, a cooker, to cookery, or culinary arts-- it is always feminine. - namus, Aug 12, 2013
La cocina está a la derecha de la sala. I guess EL cocina does not suit here. No accent on it. The talk in the lesson was about directions, not about the process (cooking). Thank you for the replies. I am "very green" with Spanish so far :) - Spanishfuture, Aug 12, 2013
