"Estar como una cabra" usage

Question

I recently learned of the phrase "estar como una cabra" which, to my understanding is meaning to be crazy. But as with seemingly everything I've ever learned...I have questions. Is this used commonly? Like, if I was conversing with someone and said "estás como una cabra." Would it make sense to them? Or even if it would make sense, would it be odd, because it is a regionally used saying?

I've only heard "estás más loco que una cabra" instead "estás como una cabra" but it seems that both mean the same. I don't think it's common but I do think people would understand what you mean if you say it.

Yes, both mean to be crazy...

Estar como (una) cabra. or Estar más loco que una cabra.
