English Translation
Zippi had walked a great distance from the African Savanna to reach a small lake. Eagerly, he quenched his thirst and went to rest in the cool shade of a baobab tree. Zippi tried to sleep but he felt very uncomfortable and very itchy. For days the fleas had been biting him all over his body! He tried to remove the fleas by wagging his tail from side to side. He tried to stamp each of his legs on the ground. He even tried to hit all four legs at once! He rubbed his whole body against the baobab tree. He tried to remove the fleas by licking his face with his long tongue. But nothing seemed to work. The fleas did not want to go away! Neither stamping, nor licking, nor rubbing, nor hitting could get them to leave him. Finally, he got so tired and irritated that he rolled on the ground with his legs in the air! (to be continued)
