Have you tried Fluencia from the creators of SpanishDict? What do you think and how much does it cost?

So... I signed up for free.

There are 9 levels. Each level has 10 units.

Each unit has 6-8 lessons to go through... there is a conversation, plus vocabulary, pronunciation, culture, grammar...

And with the free trial you can try out any 15 lessons... and it looks like it will let you try out any lesson in any level, not just the first 15 lessons in the first unit of the first level.

Try Fluencia for yourself here

Thanks, Tosh! It might be worth a look, as long as there are no hidden financial commitments. :) - Findy, Aug 5, 2013

Thank you all for your interest in our new site, Fluencia! We are in the preliminary stages of testing the site out and have put an invitation to a small percentage of our users on SD to see how people like it.

To answer some of your questions:

  • We created this new site because we received a great amount of feedback from people who were interested in a better way to learn Spanish online. We also will be able to offer a learning experience without ads.

  • SD will not be affected. We will continue to work on both sites.

  • I sure hope we don't end up like LiveMocha and RosettaStone!

  • No credit card information is required for you to try out the product. If you try it and like it, you can upgrade to unlimited access and only then do you need to enter payment information.

  • Our price is $14.95 / month for monthly access. If you join for a longer term, we provide a discount. For 1 year up front it's $7.95/month and if you buy 2 years up front it's $6.95/month.

  • We will not be modifying or adjusting any of your content. We just keep track of how effectively our product is teaching you Spanish by the way you enter your answers. It is meant to keep track of the way you learn to better accommodate how we teach you (through a process called adaptive learning).

  • We are still actively working on more content but we currently have 4 levels with 10 units each, which makes for a couple hundred lessons in total, covering conversations, grammar, culture, vocabulary, and communication.

We are still in the process of beta testing the site and have not yet made an official announcement (but expect one coming real soon). We are so excited to share this site with you, our great SD users! If you have any further questions before you test out the new site, please direct them to our support@spanishdict.com or help@fluencia.com emails.
