Question

Selectins:

Membrane glycoproteins.

Bind to specific carbohydrate groups.

Interact with mucin-like molecules.

Example:

P-selectin is stored in granule in endothelial cell.

Upon activation, granule fuses with membrane so that p-selectin is expressed.

Translate the third last phrase: "interact...." and "upon...."

Interact= Interactuar (interactúan, in this case the selectins)

Upon activation= tras la activación (among the many meanings of "upon" this seems to be the best)

La mayoría de las moléculas de adhesión celular pertenecen a cinco familias de proteínas: la superfamilia de las inmunoglobulinas, las integrinas, las cadherinas, las selectinas y los receptores homing de linfocitos.

Creo que las selectinas se relacionan con otros moléculas (en acción reciproca??) cuando están activadas ( alertas?) se juntan con otros y lo que resulta es p-selectin.

Upon, in this instance means cuando.

As for the rest, I hope it helps, I don't really understand, other than, once activated these molecules fuse together and the result is p-selectin.
