"expresiones organizadas"

"expresiones organizadas"

El trabajo con la comunidad cuenta con el respaldo de expresiones organizadas como los Consejos del Poder Ciudadano, Movimiento Comunal, Sindicatos de Trabajadores así como mujeres y niñas, niños y adolescentes organizadas.

I realise this expression has a different meaning than it's direct translation. Most instances I can find on the net are in South American Spanish and usually address socio-political themes.

Could a native speaker, preferably South American clear this up for me? TIA.

What it does not translate as is: "organised expressions".

The key here is the use of "expression" It seems to imply some form of political protest or agitation. Thanks

I'm thinking of going with "(special) interest groups... - lagartijaverde, Aug 1, 2013

I would still wait a bit for a native speaker to weigh in on this: What I found for translation in a search are these; 1) special interest groups 2) community activities 3) organized activities 4) organised expressions -- Is also used in English reference Linguee.com

Yes, thanks, see my comment above to diagonx, it's a curious one in that it seems only to appear in certain South American academic texts - lagartijaverde, Aug 1, 2013
Yes true Largatija- that is what the searches show. - pacofinkler, Aug 1, 2013

I'd understand it in a broader sense, seein gthat it has a clear context, as "expressions" of people's will as an organised entity, or enitites, like workers organising in a union, or citizens with common goals organising in assembly.

Yes, that's why I'm thinking interest groups with intentionally formed groups as the fundamental idea good stuff - lagartijaverde, Aug 1, 2013
