I suggest you check out the links above, but if you need a basic idea, estoy is used for something that is temporary (ex. I am sick: estoy enferma); soy is used for a permanent or a description that identifies the person (ex. I am a professor: soy una porfesora)

When you wnat to say: I am ___ (in a place) you use "Estoy" Ex. I am at a friend's house - Estoy en la casa de un amigo..... and I am ___ (something) you use "Soy" Ex. I am an organized person - Soy una persona organizada. raspberry
