i'm reading a history book in spanish, but i'm not able to understand the way they wrote the time line- for example-- ca.4000 or 1992a.c or 1095d.c or ca.1116 d.c someone plz help me

A.C. = Antes de Cristo (In English, BC or B.C.E)

D.C. = Después de Cristo (In English, AD or CE)

"ca." probably stands for the Spanish equivalent of "circa" meaning "around" (a certain year).
