Meaning of Echan?

I came across the sentence: "Se alimentan de las semillitas que echan las campanulas. This translate to: "They feed of the seeds of the morning glory." My question concerns the word echan. It is a conjugation of echar, which means to throw or they throw in the case. This doesn't make sense. Is there a meaning of echan I am missing?

Yes, flowers ' echar' seeds or buds. This is a normal usage. 'Echar' is one of these verbs that have a lot of uses, some unexpected..
Echar is often to throw out , shoot out or send out.
They feed on the seeds which the flowers put out. ( make/grow).
