when to use "esta" estar, este, es

My girlfriend, who is Spanish speaks sentences that frequently involve esta, este es or anything starting with that..and sometimes put the esta and es in the same sentence. How do I know which form of these to use, and when its appropriate to use them

There is no simple answer to that question. If you have a specific example you need help with, post it. If not, you need to look at some lessons.

Este, esta and their plural forms are demonstrative adjectives ("this"). Está, estás, etc are from the verb estar, es, eres, etc. are from the verb ser ("to be"). Completely different things.
