to leave something on stand-by

Question

If I wanted to talk about leaving a television or computer on stand-by, how would I go about it? I've looked in the dictionary, but haven't been able to find anything conclusive.

Dejar algo en espera, en estado de espera, en reposo, and even en stand by. For computers, you can say hibernando.
