I love you, and I want you to be. What do you say?

Gabriel, the Spanish usually use the verb querer = to love (also to want, and to wish) when talking about loving to a friend, child, or a member of your family. The verb amar is only used for long term, intimate relationships between boyfriend and girlfriend, or husband and wife.

You would say: Te quiero (mucho) = I love you ( a lot/very much)

and I want you to be.....what? What do you want that person to be? Please give more details! eg happy

How you would phrase the next part depends very much on the context of what you are saying!

For example, I want you to be very happy = Quiero que seas muy feliz.
