My baby talk spanish gets some really good laughs at times.
Yes but when it happens to me I hate it
This is such a good question. I am only in contact with Mexican Spanish very close to the boarder of los estados unidos. The dialect can be very corrupt at times with mixes of hopi indian language as well. If you were to use the palabra "marido" for husband it would be uncommon. They use more esposa and esposo. However saying that, we still communicate and my spanish speaking friends love to correct me and help out. My baby talk spanish gets some really good laughs at times.
does it matter what region the writer is from with the wording? the writer is Cuban
Ok Eddy, thanks i don't mind.
Hi Freddy
I saw from your page that you are an English teacher. Hope you do not mind but In English we would say
"I hope you ARE as beautiful as always".
It would be "I hope you're as pretty as always," but because the writer used estar, rather than ser, it refers to a more transient state. Maybe something like "looking pretty" or "all gussied up." At least that's my take.
Hi Freddy,
I am great (it's Friday .. yay!!) You?
Thanks for the reply
Hi how are you?
espero que estés linda como siempre= I hope you be beautiful as always.
