Yes, your own answer is good.

You can never feel sorrow in your body, it's of the mind or the soul, but sorrow can lead to physical pain or indeed, we sometimes say heart-ache for when we're so sad it seems to hurt almost physically.

It pains me to see the suffering of the African children, my heart aches for them.

I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you.

As I understand it pain has implications direct physical and figurative as emotion. Sorrow is a state of mood, a mixture of sadness and remorse. That is to say, if I am a hammer on the finger sentire pain, never sorrow. But if it dies someone wanted to, he could feel both.

Pain is most often felt physically(e.g when you cut your finger). It can also be used to describe emotions (e.g "I feel her pain, she just got a divorce.").

Sorrow is more intense, always emotional, and lasts longer-for months or even years.(e.g "That widow has forgotten her sorrows, she just won a lottery.")
