What does entre otros mean?

Question

Hoy en día, en las grandes ciudades, la gente tiene posibilidad de usar diferentes medios de transporte?al autobús, el metro, el taxi,eltren de cercanías,entre otros.

This is from my book, I wonder what does entre otros mean here?

Agree with Kiwi and Julian,

For a native, or very experienced non-native speaker of English, entre otros might seem a pretty obvious equivalent for among others, but I suspect for a native speaker of a non-indo-european language, even a very good one, it might be more difficult.

Among others (or entre otros) is a phrase we use (and end a sentence with) when we are naming a long list of people or things, but don´t want to name the entire list, which might be greatly too long, but, at the same time, want to be clear that there are still other (otros) possibilities which could have been named, but for the sake of brevity, weren´t. It´s a bit complicated, but it basically is used when you want to explicitly name a fairly long list, but don´t want to simultaneously exclude those list elements non called out.
