What does quedarse panza arriba mean?

The expression is from a song called Pobre Papa:

Papá no quiere trabajar pero lo obligan papito prefiere quedarse panza arriba

Is it like lying down and not doing anything?

Thanks in advance.

I guess it means to stay laying around, doing nothing. Panza arriba : tummy up...

Yes, literally, belly up, but with the figurative meaning of lazying around, not, as sometimes meant in English, dead.

Note that "panza arriba" does not mean "belly up" as in bankrupt.

For bankrupt, we say "bancarrota" and "quebrado(a)."
