Okay, facturar means to register or invoice right? Can I say, yo facturé el equipaje. I am at an airport and I have to check in my luggage. Or do I say, la aduanera facturó el equipaje. The phrase on my vocab sheet is facturar el equipaje, but I just to figure out which subject- yo or la aduanera

Aduana (customs) doesn´t register your bags; they search for contraband and in certain countries look for bribes. Facturar / registrar el equipaje is something you do, so yo facturé el equipaje is saying I checked my bags. Yo is not necessary because the verb is already conjugated in the tense used.

Chequear el equipaje se usa también (to check in your luggage). Facturar el equipaje es una frase que he escuchado principalmente en España.

La aduana chequea el equipaje but in this case chequear means inspeccionar or check out your luggage.
