I am seeing 2 words for bag - bolsa and bolso.

Can anyone explain please?

Please only answer this question yourself. This is a forum and I am looking to interact and discuss this with someone. Please don't just post links, I am capable of using Google myself!

Thanks

Annierats deserves a vote from you. Also the best answer I see so far. - Jubilado, Jun 2, 2013
Links are interactive and there are people in this forum who have their own very good learning sites. You would do well to accept their links. :-) - 0095ca4c, Jun 2, 2013
Yes, but Margherite, I agree, sometimes it's nice tojust have an answer, it's actually easy to Google.. - annierats, Jun 2, 2013
But some suggestions are very, very useful. - annierats, Jun 2, 2013
Hi annie, no question, it's nice to get a direct answer, but sometimes the answer would be best expressed in a particular lesson which sometimes you can't find because of all the extraneous fluff that google provides. I'm not arguing, I just think that - 0095ca4c, Jun 2, 2013
when people like kiwi give you a specific link to learn what you are seeking, we should be thankful for all her hard work. (and the others that have learning sites). Ok...I'm finished, I will step down from the box :-) - 0095ca4c, Jun 2, 2013

Bolso= handbag ( for women, normally)

Bolsillo= pocket( in jacket or trousers)

Bolsa/cartera = purse or wallet to put in the bolso or bolsillo

Bolsa= bag of type plastic bag, shopping bag, hot water bottle or air-pocket. Also as the Dictator says, the stockmarket.

This is a brief explanation, sure to have exceptions and regional variations, I look forward to further information.

Good question I wondered about these two also

Bolsa is Bag ... at a grocery store you say quisiera una bolsa de papel o bolsa de plástico por favor

Bolso is a small purse for money

ps Bolsa is also the stock market y acciones stocks

The difference between bolso and bolsa is that they're masculine and feminie. Like other words, ex. Gracioso and graciosa they are feminine and masculine, so you use in different times. Ex. El es muy gracioso. Ella es muy graciosa. That is the same with bolso ad bolsa.
