Reading Group no. 5 La Gama Ciega

Question

Hey,

It's that time of the week! We have made it through the first Month! Thanks for the participation, I have really enjoyed these stories

The next story by Horacio Quiroga is La Gama Ciega.

So far I think I like this one the best.

Do you have any questions/comments/concerns about the story?

What were some words that you didn't understand?

If someone wants to make flashcards that would be great if not this is a good place to put vocabulary

Memrise seems to be really good for our flashcards

Most importantly, this is about learning, So, don't feel bad if you don't know what something means. Write that word down, look it up, and guess what? You will have learned something. Try to remember to vote for others, to encourage them. We do a prettty good job of that already.

¡Hola!

Un otro cuento muy interesante. Nadie murió, nadie mató - a pesar de había un cazador. Yo vio la foto de la gamita en este conversación y mientras que estaba leyendo el cuento, pensaba en ella todo el tiempo. ¡Lindisima gamita! La gamita en el cuento era como uno niño al principio, haciendo lo que no debe y sufrió debido a eso. El fin del cuento me gusta mucho, creo que esto es el mejor fin en el libro hasta ahora. Parece que el cazador no caza, sólo vive en su casa y posiblemente vende las plumas que la gamita lo trae.

Cuando estaba buscando el significado de la palabra "ura", encontré este website: Ura en la Palabraria. El autor de los "Cuentos de la selva" explica ura como "una mosca negra y peluda", creo que esto es suficiente para mí, jeje. Y también, encontré una prueba específica por nuestro cuento: Test!.

Hay sólo dos palabras que no entiendo. La primera es "sujeta" en esta oración: "una especie de camiseta negra sujeta por dos cintas", esto es la descripción del oso hormiguero. La otra es "tubo de tacuara", creo que tacuara podría ser un árbol u otra especie de material.

Encontré la muerte del hermano de la gamita muy irrelevante; ya entiendo, la vida puede ser violenta y llena de muerte pero esta muerte no añadió nada a la historia. El final del cuento es muy alentador. Pero ¿todavía caza a los ciervos el cazador? Porque eso sería un poco raro para la gama.

Thanks Jessica. I watched the video of the story and I enjoyed listening to the story. There were a lot of words I didn't know but I figured most of them out by context.
