Jubilado tiene razón pero también en este caso, lo cual es muy raro, se puede traducir la fase correctamente palabra por palabra hasta que viene siendo un poco más elegante: It wasn´t my intention to make you feel bad.

Don't forget the apostrophe (') used in the contractions of verb forms in English, but the English is correct: Para decir "No fue me intension..." iglés es "I didn't mean to..."
I didn't mean to arrive late. I didn't mean to cause all this trouble.
Many times followed by: "Please forgive me!"
