Ordering at the store for 'just me'. How do I say that?

If I want to get a small portion at the grocery store, say for instance ceviche, what is the best way to say simply that it's only me that will be needing this? I need a simple fast phrase to say I don't need much. Here are my ideas:

No mucho. Yo sola.

Poco. Justo yo.

????

What is ceviche? - annierats, May 26, 2013
It is raw fish soaked in onion and parsley, with other mariscos tossed in depending on the making of it. - katydew, May 27, 2013

Hi katy

I'm just guessing but perhaps - Un poco de ceviche por favor, es solo para mí.

Fracobollo's version is good, but this one nails it. - chileno, May 26, 2013
Thank Margherite. - katydew, May 26, 2013
I have been using this very line, so I feel good about what I am saying now. I get confused on the solo-sola part sometimes. I need to go back to the grammar lessons again. - katydew, May 26, 2013

Thanks Franco. So for short I can just say, "para uno, p.f."? - katydew, May 26, 2013

I don't know if this will help but if I want a smaller portion in Costa Rica I would say "Déme una boca de ceviche por favor". An appetizer or snack is a "boca".

Thanks Andre. I might try it and see what the Chilenos do with that one. I think I've seen the little shotglass desserts called boquitas. - katydew, May 26, 2013

In Spain it's common, in bars and reasturants, to order half portions, or just tapas , or several tapas, or a full portion and share.. It's a very nice thing about the culture.

Media porción, gracias.

or for even less: una tapa.

Hi Katy,

I have heard it said, "necesito un poco solamente." I live in Louisiana and a lot of our Spanish translates more "word for word" than in other countries and other areas. I hope that this was helpful.
