The way I remembered the difference:
esta, este, esto, estas, estos = this/these (close enough to touch. Touch has a T in it and so do these words that are within my reach.
esa, ese, esas, esos = that/ those (no T, I can't touch these).
aquello, aquella, aquellos, aquellas = those, or that way over there. These are longer words and are a longer distance from me.
This esto este esta
These estos estas
That eso ese esa or aquello, aquella
Those esos, esas or aquellos, aquellas
The way I learned it was from a Youtube user whose channel is called tontitofrito. He says
This and These have got T's
That and Those no T goes
And an A for far away

I have been confused with these words - This - That - These - Those.
I have found 27 different words and I think there are more.
I think it is a problem in the Romance languages.
There are 64 in Romanian. (some are the same spelling)
Can someone give us a "full" list and their meanings (how to use them) please?
This : Este / Esta ( the object is near the speaker) That : Ese / Esa ( the object is far from speaker but may be nearer to the one spoken to)
That : Aquel / Aquella ( the object is far both from the speaker & the one spoken to)
