Instreamia and FluentU

Question

I'm lumping these 2 websites together because they are similar but unfortunately FluentU doesn't serve Spanish or English learners- yet! I learned about them both recently and I think this style of language instruction would be very engaging and useful so I wanted to share.

Instreamia helps people learn a language with native content (music videos and talks on YouTube and reading excerpts) and other activities. With the videos a follow-along transcript in the target language and a translation are provided and the learners fills in the missing words or picks the definition for a selected words. I like using this site for music videos and Ted Talks but I haven't really used the reading section much. I've had some trouble with things not loading all the way (it could just be my computer) and the written stuff being ahead then the voices (which is a problem when they pause and ask you something), but these were minor things for the most part.

So far FluentU, which I heard there is a lot of praise for, is only for Chinese learners but the creators want to expand to other languages. If you're interested, here's where you can sign up and tell them what languages you want to learn. It seems like they'll start with the most popular but I have no idea how soon they'll start adding new languages. (And if you sign up, you should consider adding Russian as one of the languages you're interested in * wink, wink * =P)
