How should I pronounce words in Spanish to sound like a Mexican accent, and what words would be different in Mexico then any where else?

That's not an easy question.

As far as accents go, they vary depending on what part of the country you're in. I suggest you start watching movies, videos, etc with Mexican speakers and copy them.

As far as words that would be different in México? That knowledge primarily comes with experience, but here's a few:

  1. Chamarra instead of chaqueta for jacket
  2. Popote is a very Mexican word for straw.
  3. Pastel instead of torta for cake. In Mexico a torta is a sandwich

And let's not even mention the bad words, LOL.

Read this blog. It talks a lot a about Mexican Spanish.

Also go to Mexico Guru.

but most of all, you gotta start talking to Mexicans. smile

I think you must learning spanish only while because there are many accents in México.

'En mi opinión' creo que el acento es lo de menos si se está aprendiendo español por ahora, ya que en cada región el acento es diferente smile Saludos
