In Spanish we don't use in-definite article for profession but in English article is must for profession.

Ex: Soy profesor de Español Here no un or una ( in-definite article) but in English "a" (article) is must for profession. Eg: I'm a teacher, I'm a doctor. Hope this may helps.

For your question answer is "Soy arquitecto"

Julian is absolutely correct. One thing I might add is that a common mistake for English speakers is to use "un" or "una" with a profession. "Soy un arquitecto" would not be correct in Spanish. You only use the article if you are describing what type of architect you are. "Soy un buen arquitecto" for example.

So, we absolutely don't use the article under no circumstances when referring to a profession, right?

wink
