The phrase is por espacio de. Over a period of three days.

Thanks. I hadn´t seen this before. Is espacio (or por espacio) used for periods of time a lot?

It´s not used nearly as much as "por un plazo de ......." but here "espacio" works well to avoid sounding redundant with "desplazaron" even though the meanings are quite different - 005faa61, May 15, 2013
