EMPECEMOS MEANS LET US BEGIN...IT IS THE IMPERATIVE FORM OF THE VERB EMPEZAR WHICH MEANS TO BEGIN, TO COMMENCE, TO START..

Another way to translate it would be "let's begin."
It would be helpful to have the word in the context it was presented to give you the best translation.

The proper translation would be "Let's start" or "Let's get started."
