So this is the context: A Patriotic Society sent some people to collect some grain from a village. At some point the cacique or headman of the village comes and seizes that grain. Now the question I have is why did the headman seize the grain. This is the portion of text below: "dicho cacique regreso de la capital tomo las ocho cargas y media de maize para mandar al Sr. Tesorero General en obsequio de un escrito que presento contra nosotros habiendole dicho que no toque el maiz por que lla dimos cuenta a Vuestra Senor." What is the correct translation of the above? what is going on here?
