"Diferencia entre Wipe y Clean /Difference between Wipe and Clean"

Question

Hola que tal me gustaría que me ayudaran con esta duda, estoy consciente de que clean es limpiar(limpio), pero igual wipe. Me gustaría saber cuando emplear cada una de ellas. Aunque he investigado un poco y " wipe clean" sería como limpiar con un trapo mojado, y por otro lado también encontré que wipe es limpiar o resetear(reestablecer) las aplicaciones de algún dispositivo.

Como Kiwi_girl dice, wipe y clean no son exactamente iguales.

wipe = restregar-fregar-limpiar

clean = limpia

Como ves, wipe, también se podría usar como limpiar, tal como pasar el trapo significa limpiar, a pasar la aspiradora, si se quiere usar asi...

Hay que limpiar el piso:

barre/pasa la aspiradora etc...

Correcto "wipe clean" es pasar/restregar con un trapo mojado.

Limpiar la memoria de un computador "to wipe (clean) its memory" = erase the memory

EDIT:

I Cleaned the door - Can you wipe clean the table?- I will wipe the celphone's memory.

You don't use a broom to clean any of those items, nor you wash them etc, although you could, right.

In either language, we say clean the table to mean, take a cloth and wipe it, ususally the cloth has to be at least humid.

Same thing with the door and the phone.

"wipe" es más simular a limpiar y "clean" es más simular a lavar. Tú puedes "wipe" tu cada a limpiar la sudor pero no es "clean" tiene olor. "clean" tu cada con jabón. También "to clean" la cocina tú necesitas hacer más que sólo "wipe" y en adición usar jabón, cloro y otro desinfectentes.

hmmm no te parece que lavar quiere decir limpiar con agua? para mi limpiar tiene sentido de hacer limpio por cualquier manera. Pero solo es una sugerencia :) - Kiwi-Girl, May 12, 2013

Aunque son relacionados, para mi wipe es diferente a clean. Como tú dijiste yo diría que wipe quiere decir pasar con un trapo (para limipiar normalmente claro) pero clean sería limpiar (y eso podría estar por cualquier manera - remojar, fregar etc etc)

"Wipe" is the action, similar tofrotar, "clean" is the result .

To wipe is one action you can use to clean. But by itself it is not to clean.

To clean is to remove what is unwanted sometimes by wiping and usually with a type of cleaner like soap.

Erase, straighten, organize, etc are synonyms so to clean is used when refering to these actions also.
