Please tell me the differences among niño/niña, chico/chica, muchacho/muchacha. In general, how old are they respectively?

chico/chica is used as boy or girl usually it can not be used as muchacho/muchacha istead chavo/chava can be used instead of muchacho/muchacha. - Adrianna_linda, May 12, 2013
Ellos aquí digan "las chicas" por muchachas y mujeres jóvenes. Ellas no son niños. Y las muchachas a veces dicen chico por el mismo. Tal ves es mismo quando algún dijo "boy" a un muchacho o hombre joven. - 00551866, May 12, 2013

Well like everyone else says except now I have started watching Extra español they keep using chico/chica and they are young adults so I guess chica can be used instead of señorita when used in an informal way.

niño/niña is used as child as the masculine and feminine forms respectively. chico/chica is used as a boy/girl respectively and muchacho/muchacha is used as a teen in the masculine and feminine forms.
