If you have a smartphone download BBC Mundo which is BBC News in Spanish it will provide you with new daily Spanish reading and also some videos. I don't know if anyone else has any other good examples of this kind of thing but I would love to hear.

Ah yes just looked at Babbel. I am using Duolingo which is basically the same thing. I was refering to other things for reading material rather than actuall learning apps. Babbel looks good though. - Shifty, May 11, 2013

Great idea Shifty! I will be sure to look for the app. I, like caballos commented, listen to Spanish music on the radio. Here in Orlando, there are a few weekly magazines that are published in Spanish. When I first began an attempt to translate them, I felt a bit overwhelmed. I really wanted to finish an article, but they seemed so long for a beginner. I changed strategies and began to translate music lyrics. The songs were short compared to the news articles, and they involved a lot of repetition. This was helpful in reinforcing the vocabulary. I also felt very accomplished because I was able to finish the task from start to finish. Listening to Spanish music or news, even if I don't understand, helps me get a feeling for the rhythm of the language. After listening everyday to some sort of Spanish conversation, I was able to better decipher when one word ended and another began. Now when I hear a word or phrase that I don't understand, I know what to look up. Thanks for the tip again and good luck!

Could I grab the online radio stations link? I have been looking for music and I overlooked the most basic way to find it. Online radios, I am so stupid! - tranceslyvania, Jun 11, 2013
