Responding to "Que Dios te bendiga".

Responding to "Que Dios te bendiga".

I know typically a younger person would ask an adult for blessings using "Bendición". The adult would respond with "Que Dios te Bendiga".

But what if one adult 1 said "Que Dios te Bendiga" to adult 2. How would adult 2 respond to that? Would he/she reply using the same phrase? or just say Gracias?

The other day a younger friend said que dios te bendiaga to me and I replied with bendicion later realizing that was kind of backwards...

Exactly. Perhaps it's better to be diplomatic. - annierats, May 10, 2013

It depends a lot on the other adult's faith.

Mostly, I think just ' Gracias' is fine.

it's more usual to respond Gracias or Igualmente, you can also respond Amén, but is somewhat obsolete.
