Question

Can someone translate this into English? I want it to mean "I could not even say a sentence".

"Siquiera no podía decir una frase."

No podía ni siquiera decir una oración/Ni siquiera una oración podía decir.

I was speechless = me quedé sin palabras.

It depends on context, do you mean for instance that at some point in time you weren't able to put together a sentence in say English, or do you mean that something happened to you and gave you such a fright that you couldn't say anything?

For the first one it would be - I couldn't even make a sentence. but for the second as jlw and Rodney said it would be - I was speechless.

Ni siquiera podía decir una oración. Another phrase in English is "I was speechless". Yo estaba sin palabras. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

What you´ve already said is in fact correct, so good job.

But a more common way to express it would be: I couldn´t say a word.

We also sometimes say: I´m speechless or I was speechless.
